Foaled in 2003, DA Valentino (Versace x DA Love) had a fleeting but flawless life, living well as both a champion Arabian show horse and as a sire. Undefeated in 14 shows, with 6 national championships in Halter to his credit, DA Valentino is the sire of multiple champion offspring in today’s national arena.
At the 2013 U.S. National Championship Show, 21 DA Valentino offspring competed successfully in Halter and in Hunter Pleasure: 16 purebreds and 5 Half-Arabians. Together, they brought home 29 U.S. National Top Ten awards, 8 National Championships and 4 Reserve Championships. Multi-national champions included Donna Molta Bella SRA (x RD Fabreanna), who made the most of her first time at the U.S. Nationals by winning both the Arabian Yearling Halter Filly Championship and the Arabian Halter Filly, 1 to 3 Championship. Kharisma M (x Kharmel BR), won two rose blankets, one as the Futurity Halter Filly Championship and one as the National Champion Halter Mare, AAOTH. Two other DA Valentino daughters were named top Ten Futurity Fillies as well: Loves Rose (x Indira Rose) and Matina TRF(x Madamoiselle M). Gianna Rose (x Tequila Rose MTC) was a Top Ten in the HA Futurity Halter Fillies.
Overall High-scoring Half-Arabian Halter horse at this year’s National show was Ebony By Valentino (x CF Mamies Night Out), winner of the HA Halter Saddle/Pleasure Mares 4-6 Championship and the HA Saddle/Pleasure Mares 4 and Over Championship. Beni TG (x Rohara Mademoiselle) was National Champion HA Halter 2-Year-Old Filly and Reserve National Champion HA Halter Filly 1 to 3. . Finally Polidoro FC (x Abha Palma), took the coveted title of Champion Futurity Colt. DA Valentino was represented by 4 sons in that class this year. Besides Polidoro FC, Top Ten Futurity Colts included, Valentinus TO (x Sol Natique), Bandit SRA (x LL Albufera), and MI Grand Valentino (x GA Mi Grandlady). Mi Grand Valentino was making his first appearance at the U.S. National show.
In addition to Beni TG, U.S. National Reserve Championships went to Valori TRF (x Satin Chall LL) in Arabian Halter Mares 4 to 5, I Believe FF (x PF Just Peachy Keen), in HA 2-Year-Old Halter Fillies and Volturi (Abha Qalams), 2013 U.S. Reserve National Champion 2-Year-Old Halter Colt. Volturi was also a Top Ten in the Arabian Halter Colts 3 & Under Championship, I Believe FF was Top Ten in the Halter Fillies 1 to 3 Championship and Valori TRF was Top Ten (3rd) in the Arabian Halter Mares 4 & Over Championship.
The beautiful two-year-old colt Vicario (x Faberge AA) was Top Ten in both the Two-Year-Old Halter Colts and in the Colt Halter 1 to 3 Championship. Vicario was the Canadian National Champion Two-Year-Old Halter Jackpot Colt last summer. In the 4 and 5-Year-Old Halter Stallions, Onitnelav (x Royal Ghazallah) and Victorious LD (x Queen Adiamonds) were standouts in the Top Ten line-up. Onitnelav has 4 national Top Tens to his credit, while Victorious LD is a former Reserve National Champion in Halter, as well as a multi-Top Ten. Giancarlo JPR (x Just Astrella) took Top Ten honors in the National Halter Geldings 4 and 5-Year-Olds.
Among the top national winning DA Valentino offspring appearing this year were 5-time national champion Ebony By Valentino and 5-time national champion Beni TG. First time national winners included Amelio LBA, Top Ten 2-Year-Old Halter Gelding and a full sibling to multi-national champion Eccentric Valentino; PL Sinatra (x DSD Irish Mist), Top Ten Yearling Halter Colt, and the lone DA Valentino performance winner this year, Shebe A Jammin MTC ( x She Be Jammin), Top Ten HA Hunter Pleasure Futurity winner.
